Enhance Patient Communication, Reduce Staff Burnout

A Professional Development Workshop for Your Entire Patient-Facing Team

“The things people say to help sometimes make me feel worse, but I stay quiet about it because they mean well.”

This dynamic leaves patients feeling isolated while service providers remain unaware of their impact.

We can work together to transform how your team shows up for its patients.

Your team has excellent clinical skills. But do they have matching communication skills? The best medical outcomes can be undermined by communication breakdowns. This workshop provides the missing piece of the puzzle: a simple, learnable framework for navigating difficult conversations with confidence, compassion, and resilience.

Reduced staff burnout

Evidence-based

Fills training gaps

The emotional toll of difficult patient conversations is a contributor to burnout. By providing a reliable framework and practical skills, we reduce the emotional labor on your staff, increase their confidence in high-stakes interactions, and give them a structured method to navigate these encounters without feeling as drained and depleted.

Based on principles from the fields of palliative care, communication science, and others, we translate proven techniques like active listening and structured conversational models into a simple, learnable framework for your team.

While medical training focuses on diagnosing and treating the body, our training focuses on communicating with the person. We fill a critical skills gap that is often overlooked in traditional medical education, empowering your experts to be expert communicators as well.

What's my ROI?

The ROI is seen in the reduction of significant operational costs. By improving communication, we can positively impact:

Staff Retention: Investing in skills that reduce burnout is a direct investment in retaining your most valuable asset: your people.

Patient Satisfaction: Improving communication skills is one of the fastest ways to improve patient satisfaction scores.

Risk Mitigation: Confident, clear communication can reduce misunderstandings that lead to patient complaints and potential litigation.

I am a cancer survivor.

My Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2007 was treated with six months of chemo and three weeks of radiation.

This also put me in social settings with other young adults with cancer. We have stories.

I am a teacher.

Twenty years of teaching beginning band let me hone the skill of breaking down anything into its smallest necessary pieces.

And I know the tedium of development workshops and intentionally do better.

I love psychology.

Learning about how human brains work has always been interesting to me. I have an undergraduate minor in psychology, a masters in counseling, and have read countless psych books for fun.

I know interactions.

As a socially anxious person, I’ve long since studied (overtly and covertly) how people interact and what to say in high- and low-stakes situations.

But you’re not coming to me because of who I am. You’re coming to me because of how I can help you and your team. You want to feel less exhausted by your job. You want your patients to feel supported and cared for.

Dip your toe in and see what I have to offer. People from nine countries on four continents are better able to help their people in crisis because of these tools. Join them. Use the contact form above to start a collaboration.
